Principal Responsibilities:

1. Planning and Development
• Drive new initiatives of Focus on the Family’s Counselling Services, including recruiting professional Counsellor/Volunteer and expertise needed
Develop and put in place plans that ensure long term sustainability of the Counselling Unit
Establish Focus on the Family’s counselling expertise by helping to recruit and expand the Referral Network
• Conduct surveys and studies with counselling clientele as and when necessary
• Undertake any other projects and activities as directed by the Executive Director

2. Operations Management 
• Provide minimum 80 hours of face-to-face/phone/email counselling or support groups per month, including night and Saturday counselling, as required
• Track and ensure Counsellor’s/Volunteer’s compliance to counselling processes, including but not limited to proper and timely documentation of case files and notes, protection of client information and confidentiality
• Submit to Senior Manager, Operations and Planning monthly statistics of Counselling Unit, highlighting unit’s performance and efficiency (including compliance to processes and procedures)
• Review and provide direction to the team when handling crisis situations

3. Team Management 
• Oversee the training, development and supervision of Counsellor’s/Volunteer’s counselling expertise through training, group supervision and case conferences
• Oversee the administration and recruitment of Interns, and Volunteers


• Masters of Counselling with at least 5 years of relevant counselling experience in marriage, family and mental health and preferably in an organisational setting
• Experience in providing clinical supervision to other junior counsellors
• Experience in handling family crisis such as family violence will be an advantage
• Registered with the Board of Counsellors under the Counsellors Act 1998 (Act 580)
• High proficiency in English, both verbal and written. Proficiency in Chinese is desirable
