Virtual Workshop Synopsis
An interactive workshop that gives parent(s) and child a safe space to engage in conversations about healthy sexuality and relationships. Parents will also gain insight into the issues youth face in today’s media-hyped world and provide their children with the practical handles to these open conversations at home.
The session includes
- Part 1: Uniquely ME – Understanding my worth as an individual.
- Part 2: MEdia Lens – Staying mindful of how media influences my relationships and values.
- Part 3: Safety MEasures – Recognising the need to draw boundaries and understanding the resulting consequences.
- Part 4: Marry ME – Affirming sex and marriage in the family.
Meet Your Facilitators
Marie-Elena Isaac
Marriage & Parenting Manager, Focus on the Family Malaysia
Marie-Elena serves as a Marriage & Parenting Manager in Focus on the Family Malaysia (FOFM). She has a Masters in Psychology and worked as a corporate trainer prior to joining FOFM.
She speaks on various marriage, parenting, and family topics. She also has experience in soft skills training such as time management, stress management, and leadership skills. She has a passion to educate couples and parents on the important role the family plays in ensuring a healthy and thriving society.
Dorothy Tan
No Apologies® Manager, Focus on the Family Malaysia
Dorothy has served as a full-time staff in the No Apologies® (Youth) department of Focus on the Family Malaysia since 2017. She is currently the Master Trainer for No Apologies® (Malaysia)—a series of programmes that equip individuals with the truth about Life, Love and Sex.
With over 16 years of experience from working with teenagers in her local community service centre, Dorothy has a passion to equip and educate youth in making informed choices for their lives.
