This programme is adapted from the book Parenting: A Roller Coaster Experience authored by Lee Wee Min.

Parenting – A Roller Coaster Experience (PARCE) is a 2-session virtual workshop series that covers common parenting experiences such as love, discipline, and communication. Take a journey through this programme and explore how you can enjoy, improve, and enhance your parenting skills for a great and enriching relationship with your children.

• Love Them And Let Them Know

Understand that unconditional love is crucial in parenting and how to express that love through valuing our children for who they are.

• Remember Kids Spell LOVE as T.I.M.E.

Discover how to spend quality and quantity time with our children by being present and intentional because kids spell LOVE as T.I.M.E.

• Groom Them with Loving and Consistent Discipline

Learn the importance and methods of discipline in the journey of grooming our children, while maintaining a loving and respectful parental relationship with them.

• Family Fun Time Builds Memories

Explore how to incorporate fun into the family to build memorable and teachable moments in our children’s lives. 

• Teach Them To Appreciate Gifts Received

Recognise the value of children appreciating gifts and actions, ordinary or extraordinary, and encouraging our children to be thankful through our actions as parents.

• Avoid Yelling – It’s Useless

Recognise that yelling is useless and destructive in communication with our children. Enhance effective communication skills as well as implementing L.I.S.T.E.N.

Meet Your Facilitators

Wee Min serves as the Honorary Chairman for Focus on the Family Malaysia, an organization dedicated to strengthening families in Malaysia which he founded in 1997. He is also the Asia Regional Director for Focus on the Family Global, a role he took on since 2007.

Trained as a Civil Engineer, Wee Min moved on to something very close to his heart – the family after selling off his business in 1996.

Wee Min continues to actively provide strategic support to the Board of the Associate offices in Asia and mentoring the CEOs as well as work with government bodies in different countries in Asia and Middle East in the area of family development. He also speaks regularly at churches and conferences locally and internationally on issues pertaining to the family.

Wee Min is happily married to Swee Choo and they have three adult children. The newest addition to the family is his granddaughter.

Joshua Liong is an international speaker and trainer of many disciplines. He speaks on issues of youth, sexuality, parenting, marriage and faith.

He currently serves as the principal trainer at Focus on the Family Asia. He is also the Senior Master Trainer for No Apologies®, a global character-based youth curriculum, that has reached more than 3.8 million youth globally.

He loves connecting with parents and young people and has spent more than 25 years strategising how to better equip them for parenting, life, faith and relationship. Currently in Singapore, Joshua has had the privilege of sharing his message over the national radio station, in various institutions, as well as journeying with incarcerated fathers in prison.

Joshua is married and he is the father of two teenage girls.
